About Us
Janey and Nigel Leakey moved to Rajwera Farm in 1999. Since then Chemeron Ltd. has deployed arable farming techniques that maximize local resources while minimizing environmental degradation. Chemeron’s mixed arable and livestock model allows for a holistic approach to farming.
Leldet Ltd. was founded in 2004 to address a shortfall in seed for “orphan crops”, those being suitable in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) in Kenya. Leldet has worked to avail varieties which consume less water, are more nutritious and better for the environment, to empower people in marginalized areas to maximize productivity sustainably.
